66 Best Plumber in Chicago for SameDay Service

J Sewer & Plumbing is a Chicago plumbing company serving the Avondale area from its Elston Avenue location, with sewer and drain work as its specialty. The company handles sump pump installation and service, burst pipe emergency repairs, hydro jetting, and water heater installation and repair. Kitchen and bathroom fixture work — dishwashers, sinks, faucets — plus outdoor drainage and irrigation round out the offering for homes and businesses. Reviewers describe crews that move fast on emergencies: a leaking water heater drew a technician within the hour, and a front-yard sewer repair went from estimate to completed trench work in a single day. Technicians Basi, Jose M., and Luis are named for clear, layman-friendly explanations, careful workmanship, and thorough cleanup. Reviews mention honest pricing with the most cost-effective fix tried first, plus a senior discount that regulars appreciate. This is a fit for Avondale and Northwest Side homeowners facing sewer line trouble — root-damaged clay pipe, collapsed lines, or burst pipes that need excavation and same-week completion. The sump pump and drainage services suit properties managing groundwater. For anyone who wants the problem explained plainly and the cheapest viable fix attempted before the expensive one, the review pattern is reassuring.

Rocket Plumbing is a Jefferson Park plumbing company operating from Northwest Highway. Its signature specialty is drain cleaning in all forms — sewage backups, main sewer drain cleaning, clogged sinks and toilets, blocked dishwashers and garbage disposals, laundry tub drains, and floor drain backups — with hydro-jetting as the heavy-duty method for root-infiltrated lines. Sewer scope inspections, sewer line repair, water heater installation and repair, toilet services, and gas line work complete the menu. Reviewers describe a well-drilled operation: technicians train weekly, arrive within two hours, present multiple repair options, and leave the work area clean. Jeff, Luis, Geoffrey, Antonio, Eric, Geoff, Jose, and Rob are named for professional, knowledgeable service — one customer watched a tree-root-clogged main line fixed in less than a day. Same-day water heater service gets repeated praise, including tricky utility-closet installations handled carefully. This is a fit for Northwest Side homeowners dealing with drain and sewer problems — recurring backups, root intrusion, or slow drains that snaking has not solved. The hydro-jetting capability suits anyone who wants the line actually cleaned, not just poked through. For landlords managing rental properties, the responsive service and clear options make it a practical repeat call.

Fly Plumbing & HVAC is a full-service plumbing and HVAC company based in Wheeling with additional offices in Skokie and Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. On the plumbing side it handles drain cleaning, sewer rodding and repair, sump pump and ejector pump replacement, water heater replacement, and pipe installation. The HVAC arm covers central air conditioning installation, heating equipment, and gas and steam boiler repair — making it a two-trade shop for homes that need both systems serviced. Reviewers describe same-day turnarounds: a dead water heater fixed the same day it was called in, a storm-failed sump pump replaced with maintenance instructions the same afternoon. Adrian and Tony are named for professional, knowledgeable service — Adrian recommended the cheaper of two repair options and was proven right. The company states its technicians solve problems on the first trip and explain everything before leaving. This is a fit for suburban homeowners who want one company for plumbing and HVAC rather than coordinating two contractors — boiler trouble in winter, AC issues in summer, and drain problems year-round. The 24/7 emergency positioning covers the middle-of-the-night failures. For Wheeling, Skokie, Lake Forest, and the north suburbs, the two-trade coverage is the practical advantage.

Fast Action Plumbing is an East Garfield Park plumbing company built around speed — the name is the business model. It operates as a small shop, which reviewers say keeps pricing below the big companies. Its work covers water heater replacement, kitchen sink drain replacement, toilet flush valve and wax ring replacement, backflow preventer installation, bathtub installation and liners, and sewage ejector pump replacement. Derek is the lead technician named across reviews, with Otis assisting on larger jobs: a water heater called in dead was replaced by 6 AM the same day, and emergency arrivals run from fifteen minutes to under an hour. Customers describe a loyal, repeat-client base built on fair pricing, tidy work, and Derek's attention to detail — one landlord relied on him for two years of tenant plumbing issues. The pattern is simple: call, get a fast honest fix, call again next time. This is a fit for West Side homeowners and landlords who need a plumber fast and do not want to pay big-company rates for it. The small-shop structure suits anyone who prefers dealing with the same technician every time. For water heaters, ejector pumps, and the everyday failures that cannot wait, the speed-first reputation is exactly what the name promises.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup is the Chicago Loop branch of the national Roto-Rooter network. The Chicago operation covers the full residential and commercial menu: drain cleaning, sewer line cleaning, inspection, repair, and replacement including trenchless methods, video camera sewer inspections, water heater repair and replacement, sump pumps, leak detection, hydro-jetting, and grease trap cleaning. Water damage restoration follows a structured six-step process from emergency extraction through drying, sanitizing, and mold remediation. Reviewers describe the resources of a national brand applied locally: technicians arriving within the hour for backed-up toilets and root-blocked pipes, upfront pricing explained before work begins, and methods adjusted for Chicago's clay and cast-iron pipe systems. Kevin, Tim, Daniel, Edwardo, Tony, Heto, and Cy are named for prompt, professional service. The water cleanup arm handles the aftermath — the flooding and damage that follow when plumbing fails. This is a fit for Loop residents and downtown businesses that want a single call for plumbing and its consequences — a burst pipe and the water damage it caused, handled by one company. The trenchless sewer repair option suits anyone dreading excavation. For those who value brand-backed processes and round-the-clock dispatch, the national network is the point.

All Star Plumbing & Sewer is a small plumbing company based on South Keating Avenue in Chicago, handling the full residential range: faucet and sink services, toilet services, garbage disposal work, sump pump services, sewer line repair, drain cleaning, and water heater work. Reviewers note particular skill with old pipes and aging systems — the kind of work where experience with legacy plumbing matters more than new-construction speed. The review record emphasizes responsiveness and thoroughness: crews often arrive within the hour for urgent calls, explain the process as they go, and complete jobs to a high standard. Customers describe the company going beyond the work order — dealing with village inspectors on sewer violations and handling drywall repairs connected to the plumbing job. Pricing is consistently described as excellent value, with courteous, punctual staff. This is a fit for homeowners with older plumbing systems that need a careful hand rather than a quick patch — aging supply lines, recurring sewer clogs, and backup problems. The willingness to handle inspections and related repairs makes it useful for anyone facing a sewer violation notice. For a family-run shop that treats small jobs with the same care as large ones, the review pattern speaks clearly.

Magic Men Service Inc is a West Loop plumbing company on South Halsted Street handling water heaters, sewer and drain lines, gas lines, water lines, and sump pumps. Its drain-side expertise runs deep: sewer repair, power rodding, catch basin work, camera inspections, and hydro jetting. What sets it apart is the second trade — full bathroom remodels including tile work, shower doors, and concrete shower-base repairs, letting one crew carry a project from rough plumbing to finished surfaces. Reviewers describe a small, hands-on operation built around sharp diagnostics: when other contractors quoted four figures just to investigate an upstairs ceiling leak, the team pinpointed the source within minutes and fixed it cleanly. Mike is named for honesty that borders on remarkable — fixing minor toilet issues for free rather than charging a service call. Charles, Rad, and Willy appear for fast, careful work, from faucet rebuilds completed in half a day to water heater replacements done efficiently. This is a fit for homeowners who want one crew for both the plumbing and the finish work — a bathroom remodel without juggling contractors. It also suits anyone facing a tricky diagnosis where other shops have proposed expensive exploratory demolition. The small-team structure means booking ahead for non-urgent work, but the craftsmanship reviews suggest it is worth the wait.

Goode Plumbing is a Chicago plumbing company handling water heater installation and repair, sewer line cleaning, drain cleaning, and toilet repair and replacement. Its technicians also take on corroded pipe replacement, piping for remodels, and commercial work including commercial repiping and plumbing inspections. Same-day emergency service covers the urgent calls, while the broader list reaches into planned upgrades and multi-unit properties. Reviewers consistently describe technicians who explain each step as they work — Adar, Henry, Ashton, Joey, Chris, Danny, and Jose are named across reviews for friendly, unhurried explanations and preventive maintenance tips. The recurring theme is no upselling: estimates match the final bill, and technicians talk customers through realistic options instead of pushing extras. Water heater replacements have gone from first call to installed tank within hours, and long-term customers describe years of repeat service. This is a fit for Chicago homeowners who want a plumber that diagnoses before selling — people comparing quotes, landlords managing multi-unit buildings, and anyone wary of upsell pressure. The commercial repiping and inspection work also makes it relevant for property managers. For a straightforward leak or a full repipe, the pattern of clear estimates and clean, thorough work is the draw.

Apex Plumbing & Sewer Inc. is a Lake View plumbing company with a clear specialty in sewer work: sewer blockages, sewer repair and backup service, and drain cleaning. Reviewers describe it as the shop that correctly diagnoses problems other companies miss — one customer brought in two competing firms for estimates on a major sewer blockage, and only Apex identified the real fault and had the equipment to fix it. Free estimates come before any repair work begins. Technicians Marco, Chas, Chuck, and Chris are named across reviews for staying on site until the job is done right — Marco spent a full day on one repair, sourcing top-quality parts and explaining each step. Response times run fast, with emergency calls answered within two hours. Pricing gets described as fair and transparent, with preventive work recommended only when genuinely warranted rather than as an upsell. This is a fit for homeowners facing sewer and drain problems that need accurate diagnosis, not guesswork — especially older Chicago properties where clay pipes and root intrusion complicate the picture. The free-estimate model suits anyone comparing options before committing to a major sewer repair.

Captain Rooter Emergency Plumbers is a Noble Square plumbing company built around urgent response, with hydrojetting as its signature service. Its work spans clogged drains, sewer line repair and replacement, burst pipe repair, frozen pipes, slab leak repair, and gas line repair and installation. The list extends to water heater replacement and repair including tankless units, sump pumps, flood control, repiping, and fixture installation for toilets, sinks, and faucets. Reviewers describe technicians arriving within an hour or two of the call — Oz, Joel, Gabriel, Andrew, Manny, and Juan are named for showing up with the right equipment and explaining the problem before starting. One customer's drain lines were flowing again within twenty minutes of hydrojetting work beginning. During the 2023 Chicago-area flooding, the company secured same-day emergency permits and completed sewer work in a single day. Pricing is repeatedly described as fair, with multiple options offered instead of a single take-it-or-leave-it quote. This is a fit for anyone with a drain or sewer emergency that needs equipment-heavy intervention — hydrojetting for stubborn blockages, sewer line replacement, or gas line work. Homeowners in flood-prone areas and landlords dealing with basement backups are the natural audience; the speed of response is the core of the offering.
