Best Utility contractor in Bakersfield for SameDay Service

HPS Plumbing Services is the service arm of HPS Mechanical Inc., founded as Harry's Plumbing Service in 1959, based at 3100 E Belle Terrace in Bakersfield. Its listed offerings cover commercial military and industrial plumbing, trenchless sewer replacement, design-build work, and piping and repiping, alongside service and remodel plumbing for homes. The company handles new construction, pipeline, engineering, and plumbing design work across Southern California and Nevada, giving it a scale beyond typical residential shops. The review record centers on residential service jobs: water heater replacements — including a failed unit swapped within a day of a weekend callout — toilet tank installations, sink installs, and drain cleaning. Named technicians include Albert Sanchez, Edgar, Rudy, and Brady Rowe, praised for punctuality, meticulous prep work, immediate estimates, and clear on-the-spot explanations. Reviewers note technicians arriving with the right equipment, keeping work areas dry and clean, and office staff who stay responsive about arrival times. Weekend emergency calls get fast dispatch with pricing that one reviewer found lower than expected. This fits homeowners with urgent needs — failed water heaters, stubborn drains, fixture replacements — who want a contractor with commercial-grade expertise and fast emergency response. It also suits commercial and industrial clients across the region looking for a large, established contractor capable of design-build and pipeline work.
