Best HVAC contractor in Berkeley for SameDay Service

L.J. Kruse Company is a plumbing and heating contractor on Pardee Street in West Berkeley, serving residential and commercial customers across Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo. Its plumbing offerings include drain maintenance and cleaning, repiping and pipe repair, and sewer services, while the heating side covers furnace repairs, boilers, and water heaters. The HVAC lineup extends to heat pumps in ducted, ductless mini-split, air-to-water, water-source, and ground-source configurations, plus smart thermostats, indoor air quality assessments, and ductwork. Financing options are available. Reviewers name technicians Dave, Ramon, Greg, Mike, Jerod, Johnny, Miguel, Jason, Justin, Anthony, and Joe, along with office staff Heather and Amber, describing the team as professional, punctual, and communicative. One reviewer credits Greg Stanwood with devising a simpler washer-supply solution that cost about half the original estimate; another describes Dave arriving prepared with tools and parts to revive an old boiler other companies had declined to service. Recurring praise covers fair pricing, careful workmanship inside the home, and clear explanations before and during the job. This is a fit for Bay Area homeowners with aging heating equipment, particularly boilers and furnaces that need experienced hands rather than replacement by default. Customers comparing furnace or heat pump replacement quotes benefit from the detailed analysis and options the company provides, with financing available for larger jobs. Commercial property managers needing sewer clearing or code-compliant plumbing work also fall within its stated scope, and the broad service area makes it relevant well beyond Berkeley.

Albert Nahman Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling is a full-service plumbing and HVAC contractor in South Berkeley, open around the clock for homeowners, apartment managers, and building professionals. Its plumbing work includes drain service, water heater repair and installation on tank and tankless units, pipe repair from leaks to bursts, copper repiping of aging galvanized lines, and trenchless sewer repairs. The heating and cooling side covers furnace repair, central AC installation and replacement, duct and vent work, indoor air quality solutions, and commercial maintenance programs. Customers name technicians including Emilio, Nick, Nathan, Enrique, Rafi, Salvador, and Gustavo, describing them as professional, thorough, and careful about cleanup. A recurring theme is clear explanations of the problem and upfront pricing quoted before work begins. One reviewer describes a failed furnace computer board diagnosed the same day and replaced the next morning so the home had heat for the weekend; another describes a cast-iron sewer line replaced in a single day with each section measured for proper drainage slope. Reviewers note the company is not the cheapest option but call the fees fair. This suits Berkeley and East Bay homeowners who want one contractor covering both plumbing and HVAC, such as pairing a water heater replacement with a furnace or AC install. Property managers with tenant-occupied units benefit from around-the-clock availability and technicians who communicate clearly and clean up afterward. For equipment replacements, the pattern of detailed estimates and proactive scheduling helps buyers comparing quotes before committing.
