Best Heating contractor in Somerville for SameDay Service

Michael E Allen Plumbing Co is a plumbing and heating company based in Somerville, Massachusetts, with bathroom remodeling listed alongside general plumbing and heating work. Its stated areas of expertise include drain cleaning, sewer cleaning, clogged toilet service, toilet repair and replacement, shower repair and replacement, sump pump repair and replacement, and bathtub repair and replacement. The company serves Greater Boston, lists emergency services, and keeps weekday hours. The review record splits between strong trust-based recommendations and pricing complaints. Positive reviewers describe the company walking them through troubleshooting steps before resorting to a service call, responding quickly to urgent needs, and handling problems honestly. Other documented reviews from 2011 through 2017 describe overcharging disputes, including a water heater installation priced far above retail and a drain-snaking visit that damaged pipes. This is a fit for Somerville and Greater Boston homeowners comparing plumbers on transparency, since the record shows both thorough diagnostic communication and a pattern of pricing disputes worth weighing. The bathroom remodel and sump pump expertise suits homes dealing with drainage and fixture problems together. For emergency calls, the documented responsiveness is a plus; customers may want written quotes before work begins.

Jim performs the work himself, and the review record shows repeat customers over multiple years: furnace replacements, water heater swaps, gas line hookups for new stoves, kitchen sink pipe and faucet replacements, and dishwasher drain fixes for downstairs flooding. Reviewers describe prompt callbacks, courteous conduct, reasonable pricing, and work quality that earns referrals to family and neighbors. One reviewer credits Jim with spotting building-wide problems during routine furnace inspections.
