Best General contractor in Jersey City for SameDay Service

Home Services at The Home Depot is the home-services division operating from the Jersey City Home Depot at 440 NJ-440 in the Hackensack River Waterfront area. It is not a standalone plumbing contractor: it arranges installation and project services through the store, with the actual work performed by contracted local installers. Its categories span plumbing, bathroom remodeling, electrical, flooring, garage doors, HVAC, window installation, and general contracting. Installation offerings reflected in customer accounts include hot water heater installation, blinds and window treatment installation, and flooring installation. Because the work is subcontracted, the experience varies by the assigned installer rather than a single in-house crew. Customer accounts describe straightforward, itemized pricing on some jobs, while others report extended timelines and communication gaps, including a blinds installation that stretched over months and a water heater visit that ended without the unit being replaced. Reviewers note that jobs are scheduled through the Home Depot services desk rather than directly with the tradespeople doing the work. This is a fit for homeowners who are already buying fixtures, water heaters, flooring, or window treatments from the store and want installation arranged as part of the same purchase. It suits planned projects more than urgent repairs, since scheduling and dispatch run through the retail services pipeline. Jersey City residents comfortable with subcontracted installation may find it convenient for bundle purchases, while those wanting a direct line to their plumber may prefer an independent shop.

Dans Construction & Drain Services LLC is a Jersey City contractor that combines plumbing and drain work with bathroom remodeling, kitchen renovation, painting, and general construction services. Its listed trade categories span plumber, bathroom and kitchen remodeler, heating contractor, painter, and general contractor, and customer accounts describe jobs like emergency bathroom floor repairs, leaking shower diagnosis, shower floor installations, and full shower surrounds completed in under a day. The company operates from Dwight Street in the Hackensack River waterfront area. Reviewers consistently describe owner Dan as responsive and direct: questions answered during planning and execution, arrival times kept, and work areas left clean. One customer notes he steered them away from unnecessary work, while others praise same-day fixes for leaking showers and broken bathroom floors. One critical review argues that larger renovation projects can be overpriced relative to a small crew — a counterpoint worth weighing against the strong repair feedback. This is a fit for Jersey City homeowners who want plumbing repairs and bathroom renovations handled by one team instead of coordinating separate trades, and for landlords who need fast emergency response on floors and showers. Customers considering a full home addition or large-scale remodel may want a second quote, given the mixed feedback on bigger jobs.
